Eight Sleep Pod 6 vs BedJet in Canada: setup and cost

Researched comparison · Not a hands-on test

Written byFullyOptimized Editorial Updated Oct 19, 2026 Prices checked Oct 19, 2026 · CAD before tax

Our verdict

Start with BedJet if you want lower cost and a physical remote, with no membership. Consider Pod 6 only if you want automatic water-based surface control and can carry its required first year. Keep a setup that already works.

Pick your setup before the price

“One sleeper” and “one side of a shared bed” are different jobs. So are “two people at one setting” and “two independently controlled sides.” Choose what you need to control on a queen bed.

What each setup costs to own

Hardware plus one annual membership payment per year. Year one includes one payment; three years includes three, not four.

Budget horizon

CAD before tax, checked Oct 19, 2026. Assumes today's hardware price, unchanged fees, no financing, repairs, replacement or resale. Electricity, optional protection and post-cancellation maintenance are excluded. A five-year budget is not a lifespan claim.

The premium you are deciding on: against the CA$1,239 BedJet couples bundle, Pod 6 with Standard Autopilot adds CA$3,755 over five years, or CA$4,255 with Enhanced. Across 1,825 nights, the Enhanced difference is about CA$2.33 per bed per night. That frames a budget; it is not a measured benefit.

Cancelling Eight Sleep changes more than the bill

New Pod purchases carry a first-year Autopilot commitment and automatic renewal. Cancelling stops the next billing cycle; it does not erase the initial 12 months. After the paid period ends, Eight Sleep says the manual temperature dial remains, while schedules, automatic adjustments, alarms and sleep reports are removed.

A Queen Pod 6 Standard with one year of Standard Autopilot therefore has a CA$3,798 floor if you stop renewing. You would be choosing reduced functionality, and the warranty terms require an active membership. If manual control is what you want from the start, compare that reduced-function purchase deliberately.

Returns and warranty

Eight Sleep

Start a return within 30 calendar days of the carrier's delivery scan; the Canadian policy provides a prepaid label. Freight forwarders or rerouting remove eligibility. The 2-year warranty extends to 5 with Enhanced or Elite, but only while membership stays active, and a replacement does not restart the period.

BedJet

New direct purchases have 60 days from receipt with prepaid Canadian return shipping and no restocking fee if nothing is missing. Coverage runs 2 years from delivery for the original purchaser. The optional Mulberry plan reaches 4 years total and excludes Cloud Sheets.

Add electricity yourself

Cost totals exclude energy because room conditions, set temperatures, hours and local rates change the result.

Annual cost = average measured watts ÷ 1,000 × hours per night × nights used × price per kWh

For example, a hypothetical 100-watt average load used eight hours a night for 365 nights at an assumed CA$0.20/kWh costs CA$58.40 a year. That is arithmetic, not a measurement of either product.

Before you order

  1. Decide whether you need one whole-bed setting, one treated half or two independent sides.
  2. Confirm the exact unit model and sheet or cover size in the order summary.
  3. Note the final CAD total, including tax and any optional items.
  4. Write down the annual renewal amount and what you lose if you cancel.
  5. Mark the return deadline, counted from delivery, and the warranty conditions.
