Manta Original vs PRO: pay for the fit you need

Research-based: built from manufacturer specs and published studies. Not a hands-on test.

Short answer: If you mainly sleep on your side, the PRO is the more targeted design: Manta says its C-shaped cups taper at the temples. The Original uses O-shaped cups. For a back sleeper, we would compare the Original first rather than automatically pay for the PRO. We have not worn either mask and cannot promise comfort or a light-tight seal on your face.

Buy, keep or skip?

Model check: this compares Manta Original with Manta PRO. It does not cover SOUND, COOL, STEAM or a replacement-eye-cup accessory. Check the full product name before ordering; similar-looking listings are not interchangeable.

Manta says both models were designed for side sleepers; the PRO is its more specialized option, not the only side-sleeping choice. Its FAQ says the Original strap can sit above or over the ears.[4]

Our recommendation by sleeping position

Start here if you mostly sleep on your back

Manta Original

The Original has movable O-shaped eye cups and an adjustable strap.[1] Our view: compare this simpler option first if pillow contact at your temples is not the problem you are trying to solve. Do not buy the PRO just because the name sounds better.

The more targeted design for side sleepers

Manta PRO

Manta describes the PRO's C-shaped cups as thinner at the temples, with a strap that sits above the ears.[2] That is the specific design change to investigate if a bulky mask presses against your pillow. We cannot verify how it feels without wearing it.

Which problem are you paying to fix?

Write down what annoys you about your current mask before looking at upgrades. Is it light near the nose, fabric touching your eyelids, a strap over your ear, or bulk against the pillow? Those are different buying questions. A longer feature list does not establish which one a mask will solve for you.

Both models let you reposition the cups.[1][2] That gives you something to adjust, but it is not a reason to promise a fit. Manta markets both as blackout designs; we have not measured light leakage or compared comfort, temperature or durability. This page makes a design-based recommendation, not a test winner.

We would skip the upgrade if you cannot name a problem with a mask you already find comfortable. If you have never used an eye mask, a premium model is not automatically the right starting point.

Buying in Canada: compare the actual checkout

Checked October 19, 2026: Manta's US direct store lists the Original at US$39 and the PRO at US$85, a US$46 difference before shipping, tax or import charges.[1][2] These are USD prices from the maker, not Amazon.ca prices or Canadian landed totals. The PRO needs to solve a specific fit problem to justify that premium for you.

We verified separate Original and PRO listings on Amazon Canada. Check the model name, seller, delivery estimate and return conditions before ordering. We do not reproduce Amazon prices or ratings here; the current offer belongs on the retailer's page.

If you compare Amazon with Manta's direct store, compare the final total in the same currency, including shipping and any applicable tax or import charges. Manta's product pages distinguish US and international shipping, and say that local duty charges are not covered by the company.[1][2] A US free-shipping statement is not a Canadian delivery promise.

Manta's own refund policy describes a 60-day guarantee, return of the item in good condition with original packaging, a prepaid return label, then store credit or a refund for the item once it is received back, and no refund of an outbound shipping charge already paid.[3] Confirm international return-label coverage with the store rather than assuming a domestic benefit applies in Canada. For an Amazon purchase, read that listing's terms instead.

How we made this comparison

We used the manufacturer's model descriptions, care instructions and refund policy, then checked the Canadian retailer listings. No mask was purchased or tested for this article. We do not award scores or repeat claims that these masks improve sleep stages. See how we review products and who publishes FullyOptimized. Common questions

Is Manta PRO better for side sleepers?

Its design is more specifically aimed at them. Manta says the PRO's C-shaped cups taper at the temples, unlike the Original's O-shaped cups. That is a design distinction, not proof it will be more comfortable for every face.

Can you wash Manta Original and PRO?

Manta says both complete masks can be machine washed in cold water in a mesh laundry bag, then air dried flat. Follow the instructions for your exact model and cups; accessory care may differ.

Do Manta's direct-store return terms apply on Amazon Canada?

Do not assume so. Check the seller and return conditions on the exact Canadian listing before ordering. Manta's own-store refund policy is a separate source of terms.
