Loop Quiet 2 vs Dream: what Canadian buyers should compare
Our buying verdict
Start with Quiet 2 for lower cost and simpler care. Consider Dream for its different shape and tip options. Keep a comfortable pair you already own; a higher laboratory rating alone is not a reason to replace it. Skip an upgrade until the fit, replacement routine and Canadian delivered price justify the difference.

FullyOptimized | Researched comparison | Checked 19 October 2026
Loop Quiet 2 is the sensible starting point if price and straightforward cleaning matter most. Dream is worth considering when you specifically want its sleep-focused shape and a choice of tip designs. If your existing Quiet 2 already fits comfortably and reduces enough noise, there is no clear reason to replace it on specifications alone.
The most useful detail is easy to miss: the current Dream package includes two tip types, and its advertised 27 dB SNR rating should not be applied to both. That changes how to compare the products.
This guide uses manufacturer specifications and policies. FullyOptimized has not performed hands-on comfort, noise-reduction or sleep testing of either model. The recommendations below are purchase judgments based on those sources.
The quick decision
- Start with Quiet 2 if you want the lower-priced option in the verified US listings and prefer all-silicone construction you can rinse.
- Consider Dream if pressure against a pillow is your main concern and you want to try its low-profile design. Treat improved comfort as something to establish with your own fit, rather than a promised result.
- Keep what you own if it already works. A higher laboratory rating does not establish that an upgrade will improve your nights.
- Check the return costs before buying either. The detailed policy includes shipping deductions.
These choices follow the construction and care differences below. Your final Canadian checkout total may also change the value comparison.

Prices and box contents come from the current Quiet 2 listing and Dream listing. Materials are described in Loop’s Quiet 2 materials guidance and model comparison. The SNR figures come from its Quiet 2 rating and Dream tip certification guidance.
This comparison covers standard Quiet 2, not Quiet 2 Plus. When checking a retailer or an older review, match the full model name and the pictured box contents. An older Dream package description may omit the Double Tips included in the current direct-store listing.
What the extra money buys
Dream gives you another approach to fit. Loop describes a low-profile body designed around side sleeping. Its foam-silicone tips have an oval shape; the Double Tips offer a rounder alternative. That is a useful option if one shape does not suit you, but the specification cannot tell you which will feel better against your pillow. Dream design, tip choices.
Do not assume your usual Loop tip size will carry across. Loop explicitly says Dream sizing can differ from its other models. An existing pair that fits in medium is not proof you need medium Dream tips. Dream sizing guidance.
For someone trying reusable earplugs for the first time, our recommendation is to decide which problem deserves the extra spend. If the concern is simply price, Quiet 2 is the more economical starting point in the verified USD comparison. If you have a specific fit problem, Dream’s alternative design is a more relevant reason to consider paying more than a general promise of better sleep.
Read the noise rating alongside the tip type
Loop lists Quiet 2 at 24 dB SNR and Dream’s foam-silicone tips at 27 dB SNR. That is a three-decibel difference between the published ratings. It is not a measurement of the difference you will experience in bed. Loop notes that actual reduction depends on tip size and correct insertion. Quiet 2 specification, how Loop describes its ratings.
There is a significant qualification for Dream. The official Double Tips help page, checked for this guide, says their certification is still in progress. It assigns the certified 27 dB SNR figure to the foam-silicone tips. We therefore do not give Dream with Double Tips a numerical noise-reduction rating. Double Tips certification status.
You may also see NRR figures while shopping. NRR and SNR use different measurement standards, so compare SNR with SNR or NRR with NRR. Combining the two makes the gap between products misleading. Loop’s explanation of NRR and SNR.
Neither a rating nor this guide can establish that you will stop hearing a snoring partner, or that you will hear an alarm reliably. Those are not outcomes we have tested. If hearing a particular sound is essential to your overnight setup, do not treat a product specification as assurance.
Cleaning and replacement affect the choice
Quiet 2 has the simpler cleaning routine. Loop permits rinsing it with water or wiping it with a damp cloth and a little soapy water. The tips can be removed and rinsed separately. Its general guidance recommends replacing non-Dream tips every three to six months. Loop cleaning guidance.
For Dream, Loop says to remove the tips, wipe the tips and body with a damp cloth and soapy water, and let everything dry before reassembly. Its Dream-specific instructions say not to submerge the earplugs. Dream cleaning instructions.
The replacement advice also depends on the tip. Loop recommends replacing Dream’s foam-silicone tips after 100 uses because the memory foam loses its shape. Its more specific guidance says the all-silicone Double Tips last longer and do not need replacement as often, but gives no fixed interval there. Applying the 100-use schedule to both would overstate the requirement. Dream replacement guidance.
Before ordering spare tips, check the exact compatibility label. The Dream foam-silicone replacements and Dream Double Tips are listed as compatible only with Dream. Do not buy them as a way to turn Quiet 2 into Dream.
Canadian prices and delivery
The US storefront displayed US$24.95 for Quiet 2 and US$49.95 for Dream when checked, a US$25 difference before additional costs. These are reference prices. We did not verify a Canadian-dollar product price or an address-specific checkout total, so we have not converted them into an apparent Canadian offer.
Loop’s shipping policy does provide Canadian terms: standard tracked shipping is CAD $7.95, with free standard shipping on orders over CAD $64. It lists one to six business days and says Canadian orders ship from Canada. Confirm the current estimate and total at checkout. Canadian shipping terms.
For a useful value comparison, select Canada and compare each basket’s total, including tax and shipping, in the same currency. Check any replacement tips separately. Adding accessories just to cross a free-shipping threshold is only a saving if you actually need them.
The return policy deserves a closer look
Loop’s detailed return page allows requests within 100 days of delivery, including used products. It asks for the accessories and tips to be returned and excludes certain purchases, including customized items and final-sale products. Keeping every tip and the case together is a practical precaution while you assess the fit. Return eligibility.
The same page says initial shipping is non-refundable and that shipping costs are deducted from refunds on orders that originally qualified for free shipping. The product page’s broad refund language therefore should not be read as a promise that trying the earplugs will cost nothing. Check the current terms for your order, particularly before personalization. Refund details.
Before you order
- Confirm the model is Quiet 2 or Dream and inspect the exact supplied tip types.
- Read the rating for the configuration you intend to wear.
- Check the Canadian checkout currency and the total after shipping and tax.
- Confirm the return deductions and avoid personalization while fit is uncertain.
- Read the fitting and cleaning instructions before use. Loop says not to force insertion and to stop using the product if it causes pain or discomfort. Manufacturer precautions.
The verdict
Choose Quiet 2 when you want a straightforward, lower-priced starting point and value rinseable silicone. Consider Dream when its different shape and extra tip option address a specific need you have. Keep a comfortable pair you already own unless you can name a problem the replacement might solve.
Dream’s higher published rating applies to its foam-silicone configuration. The best buying decision still needs a comfortable fit, manageable upkeep and a Canadian checkout total you are willing to pay.
